Viewing Public Profiles

Every Visitor on Mallnline who has claimed a handle gets a public profile page that showcases their activity and the Malets they follow. You can view anyone's profile by visiting their handle URL.

Finding Someone's Profile

There are several ways to reach a Visitor's profile:

  • Direct URL: Go to mallnline.com/u/handle — for example, mallnline.com/u/meekdenzo
  • Handle links: Tap any v|handle or @handle display anywhere on the platform (in Reviews, Discussions, uChat, etc.)
  • Community content: When you see a Review or Discussion by someone, their name links to their profile

TIP

Handles are not case-sensitive. Visiting /u/MeekDenzo works just the same as /u/meekdenzo.

What You'll See on a Profile

Profile Header

The top of the profile shows:

  • Display name and avatar
  • Handle (shown as v|handle)
  • Bio — a short description the Visitor has written about themselves
  • Joined date — when they first joined Mallnline
  • Follower and Following counts

Activity Tab

The Activity tab shows a timeline of the Visitor's recent public contributions:

  • Reviews they've written (only approved reviews appear)
  • Issues they've opened on Malets
  • Discussions they've started

Each activity item shows the type (with an icon), title, and when it was posted. You can see at a glance how active someone is in the Mallnline community.

Malets Tab

The Malets tab shows the Malets that this Visitor follows — giving you a window into their interests and favorite Outlets on the platform.

Following Other Visitors

When you find a profile you're interested in, you can follow that Visitor to stay connected:

  1. Visit their profile page
  2. Tap the Follow button in the profile header
  3. The button changes to Following ✓

To unfollow, tap the Following button again.

NOTE

You must be signed in to follow other Visitors. If you're not signed in, you'll see a "Sign in to follow" link instead.

You cannot follow yourself — the follow button is hidden on your own profile.

Messaging

If you'd like to reach out to another Visitor directly, tap the Message button on their profile. This opens a conversation in uChat, Mallnline's built-in messenger.

NOTE

The Message button is only visible when you're signed in.

Privacy Controls

Making Your Profile Private

If you prefer not to have a public profile, you can set your profile to Private in your Settings:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Find the Profile Visibility setting
  3. Set it to Private

When your profile is Private:

  • Visitors who try to visit your profile URL will see a "User Not Found" page
  • Your Reviews and Discussions still appear where they were posted, but your handle won't link to a profile page
  • You can still view your own profile normally

IMPORTANT

Setting your profile to Private hides your profile page, but does not remove your Reviews, Issues, or Discussions from the places where they were posted. Those remain visible in their original context.

What if a Profile Shows "User Not Found"?

You might see this message for a few reasons:

  • The handle doesn't exist — the Visitor may have changed their handle, or you may have a typo in the URL
  • The profile is Private — the Visitor has chosen not to have a public profile
  • The account was deactivated — the Visitor may have deactivated their account

If you believe this is an error, double-check the handle spelling. Handles can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (e.g., cool-visitor-42).

Claiming Your Own Handle

Don't have a profile yet? You need to claim a handle first:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Under Handle, tap Claim Your Handle
  3. Choose a unique handle (2–30 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens)
  4. Once claimed, your profile is live at mallnline.com/u/your-handle

TIP

Once you claim a handle, there's a 30-day cooldown before you can change it. Choose wisely!
