Keeping your account secure is our highest priority at Ngwenya. To help you manage your profile, we have built a fully featured identity center that embraces modern authentication standardsβmeaning you never have to remember a password to make a Murchase.
Passwordless Login
We utilize a passwordless architecture by design. Instead of relying on vulnerable passwords, returning Visitors authenticate securely through multiple modern vectors.
Magic Links & OTP
When you log in with your email address, our system will generate a secure email sent straight to your inbox. This email grants you two ways to enter the Lobby:
- The Magic Link: A button inside the email that automatically signs you in and transitions your session securely onto the platform with zero typing.
- One-Time Passcode (OTP): If you prefer, you can manually type the 6-digit code included in the email.
NOTE
Magic Links expire automatically after a short timeframe. If your link expires, simply request a new one at the login screen.
Passkeys
Passkeys are the industry standard for fast, phishing-resistant logins. By registering a Passkey on your device (e.g., using Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello), you can log in faster than ever securely.
TIP
Did you checkout as a guest? Once you complete a Murchase, the order confirmation screen will prompt you to instantly secure your session and link your receipt by quickly registering a Passkey natively in the browser.
Updating Contact Details
You can manage your primary points of contact directly in your Profile Settings:
Change Email Address
To change the email address where your Murchase receipts and Malet Owner announcements are delivered:
- Navigate to Settings > Email Address.
- Tap Edit and enter your newly desired email.
- Check your new inbox immediately for a 6-digit OTP configuration code.
- Verify the code to permanently swap your active email.
Change Phone Number
Your underlying phone number receives vital SMS updates for Malet reservations, OTP fallbacks, and 2FA. The update procedure securely mirrors Email Address updates and requires active SMS message confirmation.
Managing Connected Accounts
Link your Google, Apple, X (Twitter), or Facebook identity directly to your profile. These profiles will authorize you automatically anytime you attempt to check out a uCart item on the platform.
Unlinking an OAuth Provider
If you wish to remove an authorization grant for a Connected Account:
- Navigate to Settings > Connected Accounts.
- Locate the linked identity provider.
- Select Unlink.
CAUTION
If you unlink all of your connected accounts, you must ensure you have a verified Email or Phone number configured, otherwise, you may lock yourself out of your purchase history.
Privacy Controls
Our centralized settings pane hands you complete control over your exposure across the platform's social framework.
Profile Visibility Slider
Use the Profile Visibility toggle to decide how the community perceives you.
- Public: Your reviews, Helpful votes, and generic engagements appear with your Display Name.
- Private: All engagements hide your specific public profile markers, abstracting you anonymously across all Malets.
Deactivating Your Account
If you wish to suspend your activity across the platform, you have granular rights to either temporarily freeze engagements or permanently wipe your associated identity from the Ngwenya ecosystem.
WARNING
Deactivating your account immediately purges all your active sessions and revokes Murchase access from all attached devices natively. If you opt for Hard Deletion, understand that we cannot recover previous order configurations or previously saved uCart items. Wait until all active Murchases are completely fulfilled before deleting your presence.
