Comparing Products & Quick Actions

Mallnline makes it easy to compare products from different Malets and access quick tools without leaving the page you're browsing. This guide covers the Compare Deck and the Quick Action Menu — two features designed to help you make confident Murchase decisions.


The Quick Action Menu

Every product and service card across Mallnline has a small ⋮ (three-dot) button that appears when you hover over it. This is the Quick Action Menu — your gateway to instant tools.

How to Open It

  1. Hover over any product or service card (on the Lobby, search results, a Malet's catalog, or featured product widgets)
  2. Look for the ⋮ button that appears in the corner of the card
  3. Click the button to reveal the dropdown menu

TIP

The menu appears on cards everywhere — the Lobby's Trending Now mosaic, Featured Products, Malet catalogs, search results, and storefront widgets. You'll always find it in the same spot.

Closing the Menu

  • Click anywhere outside the menu
  • Press the Escape key on your keyboard

The Compare Deck

The Compare Deck lets you pin up to 4 products from any Malet on the platform and compare them side-by-side. It works across the entire mall — you can pin a dress from one Malet and a jacket from another.

Step 1: Pin Products

Use the Quick Action Menu on any product card:

  1. Hover over a product card
  2. Click the ⋮ button
  3. Select "Add to Compare Deck"

The product is now pinned. You'll see the Comparison Tray appear at the bottom of your screen.

NOTE

You can pin products from different Malets. The Compare Deck is designed for cross-Malet comparison — that's the whole point!

Step 2: Review the Comparison Tray

The tray at the bottom of your screen shows:

  • Thumbnails of your pinned products with the Malet name
  • Empty slots (shown as dashed outlines) for remaining spots
  • "Clear All" button to remove all pinned products
  • "Compare Now" button (requires at least 2 products)

Step 3: Compare

Once you've pinned 2 or more products, click "Compare Now" to open the full comparison view.

The comparison table shows:

  • Product images, names, and prices at the top
  • Attribute rows like Price, SKU, Weight, Dimensions, Tags, and Variants
  • Highlighted rows where products differ — so you can instantly spot what sets them apart
  • A "View Details" link under each product to jump straight to its full page

Removing Products

  • In the Quick Action Menu, click "Remove from Compare" (it replaces "Add to Compare Deck" for pinned products)
  • In the Comparison Tray, hover over a product thumbnail and click the remove button
  • Click "Clear All" to reset

IMPORTANT

The Compare Deck holds a maximum of 4 products. If the deck is full, the "Add to Compare Deck" option will show a "Full" badge and will be disabled. Remove a product to make room for a new one.

Persistence

Your pinned products are saved in your browser. If you close the tab and come back later, your comparison set will still be there. Clearing your browser data will reset it.


Where Quick Actions Appear

The Quick Action Menu is available on product and service cards in all of these locations:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I compare products from different Malets?

Yes! That's exactly what the Compare Deck is designed for. Pin a product from Amara's Boutique and one from TechWorld — the comparison table will show them side-by-side.

Can I compare services?

Services appear in the Quick Action Menu, but comparing services side-by-side is not currently supported. Services have attributes like duration and booking availability that don't translate well to a tabular comparison format. The "Add to List" feature (coming soon) will work for both products and services.

Why can I only compare 4 products?

The comparison table is designed to be readable on all screen sizes. Beyond 4 products, the table becomes too wide to be useful, especially on mobile devices.

Does my comparison set sync across devices?

Not currently. The Compare Deck is stored in your browser's local storage. If you switch to a different browser or device, you'll start with a fresh comparison set.

What does the "Add to List" option do?

This feature is coming soon! Once available, it will let you save products and services to personal lists and collections that you can revisit later.
