Ready to open your own outlet in the world's Virtual Mall? The Malet Creation Wizard guides you through five short steps to get your Malet live. This guide walks through every step, explains what each option means, and answers the most common questions.
Before You Begin
You'll need a Mallnline account. If you don't have one yet, visit the Lobby and sign up — it takes under a minute.
TIP
Not sure which plan is right for you? Visit our For Business page first. Each pricing tier's "Get Started" button takes you directly to the creation wizard with your chosen plan pre-selected.
Step 1: Choose Your Verticals
The first step asks you to pick the industry categories (called Verticals) that describe your business. Verticals determine which features and layout options are available for your Malet.
- Single vertical: Select one card that best describes your offering (e.g., 🍽️ Food Court, 💻 Tech Hub).
- Multi-vertical: Running a café that also sells merchandise? Select both. Your Malet will appear in every section it belongs to.
- Not sure yet: Tap "Not sure yet? Skip" to default to the General Department vertical. You can change this later.
NOTE
There are currently 11 Verticals across the platform, from Fashion and Entertainment to Professional Services and Wellness. The full list is available on the Discover page.
Step 2: Set Your Identity
This is where your Malet gets its name, handle, and first impression.
| Field | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Malet Name | Your display name — this is what Visitors see. Must be at least 2 characters. |
| Handle | Your unique URL slug (`m |
| Tagline | A short one-liner that describes your Malet (optional). |
| Contact Email | How Visitors and the platform reach you. |
IMPORTANT
Handles are permanent and globally unique. Choose carefully — once your Malet is created, your handle becomes your identity across the platform (e.g., mallnline.com/your-handle).
The wizard checks handle availability in real-time as you type. If a handle is taken, you'll see a red indicator and the Continue button will stay disabled until you pick an available one.
Step 3: Customize & Tag
This step has two parts:
Vertical-Specific Configuration
Depending on which Vertical(s) you selected in Step 1, you'll see configuration options specific to your business type. For example:
- Food Court: Cuisine type, delivery options
- Fashion: Size chart preferences, color swatch support
- Professional Services: Consultation types, intake form settings
If nothing applies, you can skip straight through.
Discovery Tags
Tags help Visitors find your Malet through search and browsing. You can:
- Select from suggestions: Curated tags like
organic, delivery, handmade, andcustom-ordersare grouped by category. - Add your own: Type a custom tag in the input field. Tags must use lowercase letters with hyphens (e.g.,
gluten-free,same-day-shipping).
TIP
Custom tags you create are automatically registered in the platform's tag registry. Other Malet Owners can then discover and reuse them too.
Step 4: Choose Your Plan
Select the pricing tier that fits your needs:
| Plan | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Trying out the platform — 1 Malet, basic features |
| Pro | $29/mo | Growing businesses — multiple Malets, priority support |
| Enterprise | Custom | Large organizations — unlimited Malets, dedicated onboarding |
NOTE
If you arrived from the For Business page with a ?tier= link, your plan is already pre-selected. You can still change it here.
Step 5: Review & Launch
The final step shows a summary card with everything you've configured:
- Your Malet name and
m|handle - Selected Vertical(s)
- Tagline and contact email
- Chosen plan and pricing
- Discovery tags
- Preview URL
When everything looks good, tap "Create Malet" and your outlet goes live.
What Happens After Launch
- Pending verification: Your Malet is created with a pending verification status. This is normal — you can start customizing your storefront immediately while verification is processed.
- Organization context: If you were operating under an Organization when you created the Malet, it will be automatically assigned to that Organization.
WARNING
If you're on the Starter plan, you're limited to 1 Malet. Attempting to create a second one will show an error asking you to upgrade. Visit Manage Your Subscription to upgrade your plan.
After Your Malet Is Live
Once created, head to your new Malet at mallnline.com/your-handle to:
- Design your storefront — Use the Malet Designer to customize colors, fonts, and layout.
- Add products or services — Start populating your catalog from The Deck (your Malet's management dashboard).
- Configure notifications — Set up alerts so you know the moment a Murchase comes in. See Notifications & Invitations.
- Set up payouts — Connect your bank account to start receiving earnings. See Payouts & Earnings.
