As a Malet Owner on a Pro or Enterprise plan, your account is linked to an Organization â a shared workspace where your team manages Malets, handles Murchases, and collaborates on day-to-day operations. Understanding how to use Organization Context unlocks a set of powerful, org-specific tools right inside the Virtual Mall interface.
What Is Organization Context?
Mallnline gives you two distinct modes of operating inside the platform:
- Personal Context â Your default experience. You manage your own personal Malets, profile, and settings.
- Organization Context â When switched in, every page, search, and Malet-creation action is scoped to your Organization. Other team members share this workspace.
Think of it like switching from your personal desk to your company's shared office floor.
Switching Into Your Organization
You can switch between personal and org context at any time from the account menu in the top navigation bar.
- Click your avatar (the circular icon at the top-right of the page).
- In the modal that opens, scroll down to the "Switch context" section.
- You'll see a compact list with your Personal account at the top, followed by each Organization you belong to â with its icon, name, and your role.
- Click the Organization you want to switch into. The modal closes, the page navigates to the Lobby, and everything refreshes scoped to that org.
How to tell you're in org context: A small indigo badge showing your org's initial letter appears overlaid on your avatar icon in the top navigation bar. The same badge appears on your profile picture inside the account modal.
To switch back to your personal account:
- Click your avatar to open the account modal.
- Click "Personal" at the top of the "Switch context" list.
TIP
You will see an Org Context banner appear on the Profile page and the Search page whenever you're browsing in org context. This is a visual reminder so you never lose track of which context you're working in.
What Changes When You're in Org Context?
Once switched in, several key areas of the platform automatically update:
Your Profile Page Shows Org-Owned Malets
Instead of seeing your personal Malets, the My Malets section on your Profile page shows only the Malets owned by your Organization. Each Malet icon switches to a purple gradient to visually distinguish org-owned Malets from your personal ones.
The Navigation Updates
The left-hand side navigation adds Org-specific quick links:
- Org Dashboard â Your Organization's management hub
- Org Malets â The profile page scoped to your org's Malets
- Team â Your Organization's member roster
- + New Malet â Create a new Malet as an Organization asset
The Account Menu Gets Org Actions
Opening your account modal while in org context shows the "Switch context" section with an active-context dot next to your current org. The Settings, Help & Support, and Sign out rows appear at the bottom of the modal as clean icon-row buttons â tap any of them to navigate or log out.
Creating a Malet Assigns It to Your Organization
Any Malet you create while in org context is automatically owned by your Organization â not your personal account. In the Malet creation wizard's final Review & Launch step, you'll see the Owner field display your Organization's name instead of "You (Personal)."
NOTE
Malet ownership is determined by the Organization context at the moment of creation. If you accidentally create a Malet in personal context, contact your Org admin to coordinate a transfer.
Searching Within Your Organization
When in Org Context, the Search page automatically scopes all search results to your Organization's content:
- The search hero updates to read: *"Search products, services, and Malets owned by [Your Org Name]."*
- A blue banner appears just above the search tabs confirming: "Searching within [Your Org Name]".
- The Malets content tab only shows Malets belonging to your Organization â you won't see competitor Malets in results.
Switching Back to Global Search
If you need to search the entire Virtual Mall without the org scope:
- Locate the "Searching within [Org Name]" banner on the Search page.
- Click the "Search everywhere" button at the end of the banner.
- The org scope is cleared, the banner disappears, and your search immediately re-executes against the full global index.
NOTE
Clicking "Search everywhere" does not permanently switch you out of org context â it only clears the search scope for that session. Your navigation and profile page remain org-scoped until you manually switch back to Personal.
Which Features Require a Paid Plan?
Organizations are a Pro and Enterprise plan feature. If you're on the free Starter plan, you'll see an upgrade prompt when you try to create an Organization.
Free Starter Plan
On the Starter plan:
- You can create 1 Malet with up to 3 team collaborators.
- You cannot create an Organization.
- The "Create Organization" link in the account dropdown will show a "Pro" badge â clicking it takes you to the upgrade page.
Pro Plan ($29 / month)
The Pro plan unlocks Organizations:
- Up to 5 Malets under your Organization.
- Up to 10 team members with full role management.
- Custom domain support for your Malets.
- Advanced analytics and revenue reporting.
Enterprise Plan (Custom Pricing)
The Enterprise plan is designed for large teams:
- Unlimited Malets and unlimited team members.
- All Pro features plus SAML 2.0 single sign-on and directory sync (SCIM).
- SIEM event streaming for your security team.
- Dedicated account manager.
Upgrading to Unlock Organizations
To unlock Organization features:
- Navigate to
/for-businessor click the "Create Organization" button in the account dropdown (the "Pro" badge will take you there). - Select the Pro plan.
- You will be guided to create your Organization first â name it and optionally set a custom slug (e.g.,
acme-corp). - Complete the secure checkout.
Once payment is processed, you're immediately upgraded. Your Organization is created and you're automatically switched into org context.
TIP
If you navigate directly to /orgs/create without a paid plan, you'll see the upgrade wall with a side-by-side comparison of the Pro and Enterprise plans. You can start the upgrade directly from there.
Org Context for Team Members
If you are a team member (not the owner) of an Organization, you can also switch into the Organization's context using the same account modal. What you can see and do depends on your role within the Organization:
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access â billing, settings, all Malets |
| Admin | Manage members, Malets, and most settings (no billing) |
| Member | View org Malets, create content, limited settings |
| Viewer | Read-only access to org Malets and content |
For more information on managing your team's roles, see the Notifications & Invitations guide.
CAUTION
If your Organization is on a Pro plan with 5 Malets and you try to create a 6th, you will receive a limit error. To unlock more Malets, the Organization Owner must upgrade to the Enterprise plan from the Organization's billing page (/orgs/[slug]/billing).
