Sharing Your Wishlist

Mallnline's Custom Lists (Wishlists) are designed for more than just saving your favorite productsβ€”they are built for collaboration! Whether you are planning a shared event, organizing a corporate purchase with your Organization, or just sharing gift ideas, you can easily invite others to view or manage your list.

How to Share a List

To invite collaborators to your list:

  1. Navigate to your My Lists dashboard.
  2. Select the list you want to share from the left-side navigation panel.
  3. Click the Share button located at the top right of the list view.
  4. In the Share modal, type the exact handle, email, or the Display Name of the person you want to invite.
  5. Select their permission level (e.g., "Can View" or "Can Edit").
  6. Click Invite.

TIP

Who can I invite? You can invite anyone on the platform! If they are an active user, they will receive an in-app notification letting them know you shared a list with them.

Understanding Permissions

When inviting a collaborator, you must assign them a specific role:

  • Viewer (Can View): The collaborator can see all the items in your list, but they cannot add, remove, or modify the quantities of the items.
  • Editor (Can Edit): The collaborator has full management rights. They can add new products or services to the list, update notes, change quantities, and even invite other people.

IMPORTANT

As the creator of the list, you are the Owner. Only the Owner can delete the entire list.

Finding Lists Shared With You

If someone invites you to collaborate on a list, you will receive a notification in your Notification Center (the bell icon at the top right of your screen).

To view the list:

  1. Click the notification, OR
  2. Go to your My Lists dashboard.
  3. Look under the Shared With Me section in the left sidebar.

Adding List Items to Your Cart

Ready to purchase items from your wishlist? You can add all or selected items to your shopping cart in one step.

Steps

  1. Open the list containing the items you want to buy.
  2. Click the Add to Cart button in the toolbar at the top of the list.
  3. The list enters selection mode β€” checkboxes appear next to each item. All purchasable items are selected by default.
  4. Uncheck any items you don't want to add, or use the Select All toggle at the top.
  5. Review the summary at the bottom of the page showing the number of selected items and estimated total.
  6. Click the Add to Cart button in the bottom bar.
  7. A confirmation message appears with a link to View Cart β†’.

TIP

Items stay in your list! Adding items to your cart does not remove them from the list. You can re-add them later or keep the list for future reference.

NOTE

Why are some items not selectable? Malets (stores) saved to your list cannot be added to a cart because they aren't purchasable items. Only products and services can be added to your cart.

Troubleshooting

"User not found"

If you see an error saying the user cannot be found, double-check their handle or email. Display names must be an exact match (though they are not case-sensitive). We recommend asking for their unique @handle for the easiest connection.

"My items disappeared when I shared my list!"

Don't worryβ€”your items are safe! If you created a list while browsing as a guest (before logging in) and later shared it, the system automatically synchronizes your local items to the cloud during the sharing process. If your internet connection is interrupted during this step, try refreshing the page.

NOTE

Lists must be synchronized to the Mallnline cloud before they can be shared. Sharing an unsaved local list will automatically sync it for you and make it accessible from any device!
