Platform Administration & The Tower

The Tower is Mallnline's internal platform administration dashboard. It provides tools for managing users, analytics, search configuration, alert templates, and platform health — all in one place. Access to The Tower is strictly controlled and limited to authorized Mallnline staff.

IMPORTANT

The Tower is not for Malet Owners. If you're a Malet Owner looking for your management tools, visit The Deck instead.

Who Can Access The Tower?

Access to The Tower is granted through an invite-only system. Only authorized Mallnline staff with a @mallnline.com email address can be invited.

There are three levels of access:

Role What You Can Do
Super Admin Full access to everything, including inviting and revoking other admins
Admin Full dashboard access — analytics, users, search, templates, and more
Viewer Read-only access — can view everything but cannot make changes

NOTE

Being a Malet Owner or an Organization admin does not grant Tower access. The Tower uses a completely separate access system.

Accepting an Admin Invite

If you've received a platform admin invitation:

  1. Check your email — You'll receive an invite from a Super Admin with a special link
  2. Sign in — Make sure you're signed into Mallnline with the email address matching the invite
  3. Click the link — It will take you to /tower/accept-invite
  4. Review and accept — You'll see the role you're being granted and who invited you
  5. Welcome to The Tower — After accepting, you'll be redirected to The Tower dashboard

WARNING

Invite links expire after 72 hours. If your link has expired, ask the Super Admin who invited you to send a new one.

Tower Dashboard

Once inside The Tower, you'll find several tabs:

Overview

The main landing page showing platform-wide statistics:

  • Total Malets on the platform
  • Total products and services
  • Murchase volume and revenue
  • Order status breakdown
  • Recent audit activity

Users

A searchable, paginated list of all registered Visitors and Malet Owners. Includes:

  • Profile details and activity stats
  • Sort by name, email, or registration date
  • Detailed user drawer with full profile view

Analytics

Five analytics sub-tabs for deep platform insights:

  • Revenue — Daily revenue trends, Murchase volume, top-performing Malets
  • Blog — Post volume, engagement metrics, top authors
  • Media — Upload volume, storage usage, MIME type distribution
  • Search — Index composition, category distribution, reconciliation health
  • Alerts — Delivery health, channel distribution, DLQ status

Team

Manage platform administrators:

  • View all current admins with their role, join date, and who granted their access
  • Invite Admin (Super Admin only) — Send an invite to a @mallnline.com email
  • Revoke (Super Admin only) — Remove someone's admin access (soft-delete)

TIP

All platform admins can view the Team tab, but only Super Admins can invite new admins or revoke existing ones. You also cannot revoke your own admin access — this prevents accidental lockouts.

The Deck vs. The Tower

Security

The Tower implements several security measures:

  • Shorter session times — Platform admin sessions expire after 15 minutes (vs 60 minutes for regular users), with refresh tokens valid for 7 days (vs 30 days)
  • Domain restriction — Only @mallnline.com emails can receive admin invites
  • Invite chain — Every admin can be traced back to the original seed administrators
  • Soft-delete revocation — When access is revoked, it's logged with a timestamp for audit purposes
  • Self-revocation protection — Admins cannot accidentally remove their own access

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm a Malet Owner but I can't see The Tower link. Why? The Tower is for Mallnline internal staff only. As a Malet Owner, your management tools are in The Deck. You'll find analytics, inventory management, and all owner tools there.

Q: My invite link says "expired". What do I do? Invite links are valid for 72 hours. Ask the Super Admin who sent the invite to create a new one from the Team tab in The Tower.

Q: I see "Your account email does not match the invite email". What's wrong? You're signed in with a different email than the one the invite was sent to. Sign out, sign back in with the correct @mallnline.com account, and try the link again.

Q: Can I be both a Malet Owner and a Platform Admin? Yes. Having platform admin access doesn't affect your Malet Owner capabilities. You'll see both The Deck (for your Malets) and The Tower (for platform administration) in your navigation.

Q: What happens when my admin access is revoked? You'll immediately lose access to The Tower. Your regular Mallnline account and any Malet Owner features remain unaffected. The Tower link will no longer appear in your navigation.
